Well, there's secondary school for 13 years old to 18 years old. But most of the subjects are in Malay now.

Hello - if you are still looking, I understand that there is an "International " School on Penang - I know that the children (european) of a major 5* hotel manager attend it - he also has his main residence on Penang and commutes to Langkawi - travelling back to Penang on some weekends via the ferry from Kuah. Sure beats the daily grind of the underground in/out of London!

Cheers

hi voytek,

almost all high schools are government run... the Malaysian education system is based on the British education system because we were once a British colony.

the only difference is that, ever since 1980's, the medium of instruction has been changed to the national language, i.e. Bahasa Malaysia.

there are no private schools in Langkawi where the medium of instruction is in english... your best bet is either Penang or Kuala Lumpur... those cities have several.

hope this answers all questions pertaining "schools" in Langkawi.

selamat datang.
