Latest Flight information - UK to Langkawi

We are hoping to return to Langkawi next February and have been poring over all the usual travel/flight sites. Currently, we are being quoted anything from£575 to £1800 for a return economy seat. Last year (Feb) we managed to get seats for £310 adult and £275 child with Malaysian Airlines!

The substantial rise in cost is a concern for many, particularly when Malaysia is spending fortunes over here on promoting itself as a tourist destination to rival Thailand; so if anyone receives news of a special offer of promotion of 'cheap' flights, please post details here.

Received a leaflet in the local paper yesterday - DialAFlight - saying they achieved a price from London - KL for £382 return last month. Not sure whether I believe them though. :-\

You are probably already aware that MAS are offering a fare of approximately £530 including taxes though it has to be booked I think by the end of October. We are planning to be there in February as well so if you hear of any good flight deals please let me know.

Thanks for the message - actually I wasn't aware of that offer - have checked our usual flight sites but the best I can find is around £590 including taxes - which site did you see the offer at £530?

Sorry to butt in on your & Sue's messages but reading your last post re: the MAS deal, they have been promoting this in the national press over the last week or so to advertise Tourism Malaysia & their 50 years of independance but, as Sue quite rightly points out, you have to book by a certain time to claim this offer.  This is the best so far.

Sorry for not responding earlier but I have been away on holiday. I think that Aileen has already supplied the necessary information but just in case you haven't managed to find the offer it was on the MAS  website. However having looked at it again the offer was for travel in May 2008 and the price for for travelling in February is £589.  I am sorry for raising your hopes but will let you know if I come across anything else.
