Hi Vennie/all
Its great to see the forum back and hopefully, the spammers beaten.
We're back at the Pelangi Beach on25th April for 6 nights - this is our 6th visit to our favourite place on the planet! (You can tell we like the island!)
Just wondered if anyone had any comments on anything that had changed since our last visit this time last year? New recomendations for places to eat (or not to eat perhaps) - or any new attractions.
Cant wait to get back!
Campbell ;D

Langkawi is well known for "slow & easy" in everything ... so what do you think could happen in such a short time :D There's one thing I'm sure that changed ... WE ARE NOW 1 YEAR OLDER ;D Just kidding, the blacklisted restaurants or shops are still on the list so just go to places you like last year.

Hi Vennie,
I guess I asked for that one! ::)
Its the slow pace of change that we enjoy. Sounds like we can look forward to visiting all our favourite places again.
I will leave the question open though - anyone got anything new to share?
Campbell :)

there have been some changes since last year... especially around the Pantai Cenang area... and to be more exact, in front of the establishment that has penguins.
there's a small hotel and several shoplots... and what would Langkawi be without even more restaurants, right?
so, unsurprisingly, a few new eateries here and there... right up to Pantai Tengah.

Thanks Langkawipur,
Any of the new places particularly recomended?
I'll have a look at the new shops/restaurants opposite U/W World when I'm down getting my duty free. :D
The ones in Pantai Tengah are a bit of a walk from the Pelangi so I only tend to end up there occassionally.
The new forum still seems to be a bit quiet compared with the heydays of the old one. I thought by now we might have seen some postings from some old familiar names. :-\

The Italian Restuarant " L'osteria" at Pentai Tengah is great, particularly the pizzas. The thinnest and lightetst bases I've ever tasted. Great service as well. Haven't tried the Indian next door yet.
We'll be back in June and are looking forward to being back at Orkid Ria again and catching up with all the staff. Still one of the best places to eat.
Twice a years not enough.
Roll on June
Wheels.

Hi Wheels,
I'll try to get down to that end of town and give the Italian a try. I'm sure we'll end up in Orkid Ria at some point as well - nice and close to the Pelangi. We only tried it for the first time last year. I'm not really a seafood fan but I had heard so many good reports that I had to give it a try. I was told they do the odd chicken dish as well but in the end I opted for something fishy and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Getting the suitcases packed as we speak - doing a few nights at Singapore then a few nights at KL then finally arriving at Langkawi on the 25th April - anyone else going to be there at the same time?
