Well , we have made our minds up !! We are coming to live in the new year !! Having just had a 3rd visit , only this time a serious look at everything , we returned to the uk , and put the house on the market . If anyone would like to advise as to which bank would be the best to deal with , we would appreciate it very much. Also , if anyone knows of a decent builder that would be very helpful. In fact any useful info would be devoured . Regards to all Vann and Julie

Maybank and RHB are both ok.Watch out if you are buying land and building your own property - I know of one couple who have almost finished their property and enquired what the plot not far away was having built on it and got the reply "cement factory" !!!!!!!!!!!!The attitude on Langkawi is very laid back - pride of workmanship is not their speciality and don,t expect workers to turn up on a regular basis. If you have anything built I suggest you are on site - project managing - the WHOLE time! What do we miss about the UK?My wife would say family and shopping- at a push I would say family and my local pub!Would I go back to live in the UK? I don,t think so- we are happy here. If you are shipping your worldly goods over and receive astronomical quotes - contact me - I might be able to help. We shipped our goods into Port Penang ( thats Butterworth container port on mainland) and then used a local freight forwarder to get our goods delivered to our door on Langkawi. Then found out he is a neighbour of ours and a good guy !! regards Bob T
