need help on which part of langkawi to stay. my friends and i are planning a trip in jul and no one has ever been to langkawi yet. we've searched for hotels and found one.. Berjaya Langkawi Beach Resort and Spa. it this hotel okay? how far is it from kuah town?
any suggestions will be highly appreciated. thanks!

Well, Berjaya is around 30 km from town. I think you have seen it on the website, it covers a wide area of land and you will need to take their shuttle service to move from the room to lobby. Unless you are staying at the beach front or on water suite.
If you are going to join the tourist activities, it's better to stay in Pantai Cenang area. Where you can easily move around on foot =)

thanks for the advice vennie.
do you recommend any hotel in that area that is in the same price range as Berjaya? somewhere around $100 to $130/night/room (or less, i dont mind!)? we want to have time for the beach and shopping ofcourse, plus not to mention SPA!

If the $ sign you put there is US Dollar, I guest you can stay at Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, which located on Pantai Cenang. Nice beach, near restaurants and lots of shopping along the way =)

thank you. i tried booking at Meritus Pelangi and the rates are so high! :o we will i think opt for a Seaview Villa at The Frangipani Langkawi Resort and Spa. any comments?
