The "Loh Shan" session
Diners using their chopsticks to toss the salad to a chorus of "loh Shan". The act of tossing the salad symbolises "whipping up luck", and the higher the toss, the better the luck.
God of Prosperity
The God of Prosperity or popularly known as "Cai Shen " giving out the lucky cookies and candies to the celebrators.

Tangerines-throwing session
The throwing of tangerines into the sea is an important part of the Chap Goh Meh's culture. Traditionally, unmarried women would toss tangerines into the sea. While doing so, hopeful unmarried men would try their luck at catching these tangerines in order to meet their future spouse.
